Shadowhunters wins for Best New Fandom at MTV awards


“Shadowhunters,” the television show based on Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series, won Best New Fandom at the 2016 MTV Fandom Awards. The MTV Fandom Awards is an annual award show that focuses on fan favorites in pop culture.

The show “Shadowhunters,” which broadcasts on Freeform (formerly ABC Family), begins at the beginning of City of Bones, where Clary Fray is forced into the world of Shadowhunters and demons after her mother is kidnapped. Actress Kat McNamara plays Clary Fay.

The first season, which finished this past April, consists of thirteen episodes. “Shadowhunters” is currently slated for a second season.
