little brother cory doctorowParamount optioned film rights to Cory Doctorow’s YA novel Little Brother.

The award-winning novel is set in the near future and follows Marcus and his friends, who are caught in the wrong place after a terrorist attack. The Department of Homeland Security abducts them, but they decide to ignite a revolution and take down their police state.

Don Murphy will produce the adaptation through Angry Films, who first picked up the film rights, for Paramount. Gaby Canton will join him on the development  team. Tracking Board says Paramount is looking for a writer for the film, implying that Doctorow won’t be brought on board to aid in writing the adaptation.

Little Brother can be downloaded for free on Doctorow’s website.
