Facebook Watch picked up one of my favorite books of 2015, The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes, as a 10-episode series under the working title Sacred Lies.
The novel follows Minnow, a teenager who has spent much of her life in the Kevinian cult. Following her escape from the cult, she finds herself in a juvenile detention center and is of special interest to the authorities since she’s suspected of knowing who killed her cult leader.
Casting is currently underway. With such a bold, standout main character as Minnow and an ensemble of great characters, I’d love to see the casting introduce some new faces to audiences.
Raelle Tucker will serve as showrunner and Scott Winant will direct the first two episodes. The pair will also executive produce the adaptation. The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly is available now.
