E. Lockhart’s We Were Liars movie is underway. Imperative Entertainment bought the rights before We Were Liars released, and E. Lockhart wrote the first draft of the script.
But it’s been announced by Deadline that Nicholl Fellowship winner Samantha Shannon will be writing an adaptation of the script for Imperative Entertainment.
We Were Liars is about a girl who survived an accident at her family’s summer home and cannot remember the details when she returns, and the four friends who have helped keep the secret from her.
Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Zak Kadison will produce.
