LUMBERJANES wins 2016 GLAAD Media Award

The YA comic series Lumberjanes won the 2016 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic. The awards honor outstanding portrayals of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender characters.

Lumberjanes is about Jo, April, Mal, Molly and Ripley – five best friends at Lumberjane scout camp, all determined to have an excellent time despite the quests and supernatural creatures thrown in their path. The creative team for Lumberjanes includes Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooke A. Allen and Noelle Stevenson, who is best known for her YA graphic novel Nimona.

Lumberjanes features Molly and Mal, who have crushes on each other; and Jo, who is transgender.
